Silestone
Silestone is composed of 93% quartz and 7% pigments, additives,
and binder resin. These components are manufactured into a slab
using a process known as Vibrocompression under Vacuum. The
quartz in Silestone makes it naturally scratch-resistant. Only
three other natural minerals (Diamond, Sapphire, and Topaz) are
harder than quartz. Silestone is also non-porous, therefore it
is highly resistant to stains from coffee, wine, lemon juice,
olive oil, vinegar, and many other common household products.
Unlike granite, Silestone never needs to be sealed.
Design
Silestone natural quartz is a product that stays at the
forefront of innovation and design. Its genius is its ability to
meet your changing needs and lifestyle, opening a path to invent
cutting-edge styles and designs. Silestone is a stone product
that delivers it all: beauty, versatility, reliability,
consistency and durability. This unique combination of features
makes it the perfect surface for countertops, walls,
backsplashes, shower enclosures, vanity tops, tub-decks and
more.
A Cleaner, Safer Countertop
Silestone offers a unique combination of features for a cleaner,
safer countertop: built-in Microban antimicrobial product
protection, National Sanitation Foundation Certification and
Greenguard Indoor Air Quality certification. Microban protection
inhibits the growth of microbes such as odor causing bacteria,
mold and mildew. While Microban protection does not protect
users from foodborne illness and is not a substitute for normal
cleaning practices, it does result in countertops that are
easier to clean and stay clean. Certifications by the National
Sanitation Foundation and the Greenguard Environmental Institute
mean Silestone Quartz is a safer surface for areas where food
preparation takes place, while protecting the air quality of
your indoor environment.
