1. Once I place my order how long will it take to get my
countertops?
There are many circumstances that
can determine the length of time between when you place your
order and when we template for your countertops. The length of
time between template and installation of your countertop is
7-10 working days.
2. What countertop materials need
to be sealed?
Natural stones are the only
products that need to be sealed.
3. Do you seal your granite?
Yes, every stone countertop is
sealed before it leaves our facility.
4. How often do I need to seal my
stone countertops?
If you have your countertops
sealed with Stonelock 15 Year Sealer, you would not have to
reseal them for 15 years. If you have standard sealer applied,
then you would have to reseal your countertops every 12 months.
5. Can I cut on my countertop?
Yes, however it is recommended
that you use a cutting board made of wood or plastic as cutting
on the stone will dull your knives quickly and you could
possibly damage your countertop.
6. Which stone products are best
suited for different applications?
In the kitchen, granite is the
stone that is best suited for use in a heavy traffic
application. For lighter traffic areas such as bathrooms, bars
and vertical applications any stones including granite can be
used.
7. How do I clean my countertops?
Soap and water is the best product
to use, but there are other cleaners that may be used depending
on what material the countertop is made from. Solid Surface can
be cleaned with a non-abrasive cleaner such as Windex or
cleaners made specifically for solid surface. Quartz can be
cleaned with a mild household cleaner such as 409. Natural stone
should be cleaned with a ph balance stone cleaner.
8. What type of sink can I use in
my countertop?
Any type of under-mount or drop-in
sink can be used.
9. Which countertop materials can
be repaired?
All countertop materials can be
repaired to a certain degree. The countertop material that has
the most repair options is solid surface.
10. Which countertop materials can
be used outside of the house?
Granite and acrylic solid surface
are the only products that we recommend for exterior
application.
11. The stone I selected has pits
in it. Is this normal?
Yes, the degree to which this
occurs depends greatly on the color and type of stone that has
been selected. This is normal and should be expected.
12. How are seam placements
determined?
A combination of the following
elements determine where seams are located in a countertop:

Slab size of material
selected.

Movement in the material

Layout of the job

Logistics of getting the
countertops in the building

Manufacturers requirements
13. How thick is 3cm?
1 3/16 inches
14. Will my countertop have seams?
That can only be determined after
the material and color have been selected.
15. If I have seams in my
countertop will I see them?
If you have selected Natural Stone
or Quartz, you will see the seams. If you have selected Solid
Surface, the seams will be inconspicuous.
16. Can I set hot items on my
countertop?
No matter what the countertop is
made of, we recommend that you always use a trivet to set hot
things on instead of setting them directly on the countertop
surface. Some materials are less vulnerable to heat damage than
others but all materials are susceptible to thermal shock. |
